FIBER: Homemade Pandemic Masks

Like everyone else, I was staying home in March. Like many of you, I made hand-sewn masks from old curtain fabric and tee-shirt ties.  Worked great--I had to get out my sewing machine do some stitching. I was glad when they were finished!

I cut one inch strips of an old tee shirt for the straps. They grab well, stretch a bit, and stay in place pretty well. I didn't like them going around my head, so abandoned these tied ones for ones with elastic that go around ears.

This is what they looked like--now they're sent out to in-laws, sons, etc.
